The Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) dictates the number plate size!
The following is a typical VRM.
Legal size is 460mm x 101mm.
50% of 2010-19 VRMs have a 1.
Legal size is 424mm x 101mm.
Neat, symmetrical & legally minimal.
The shorter the VRM, the shorter the number plate.

How is a CAR plate size calculated?
Each character of the VRM must measure 50mm x 79mm except 1 and I which are 14mm x 79mm.
The VRM is placed on the plate with a margin of at least 11mm all around the plate.

How is a BIKE plate size calculated?
Each character of the VRM must measure 44mm x 64mm except 1 and I which are 10mm x 64mm.

Choice of type style for VRM
Standard Characters are a solid black print that is flush with the plate surface.
Raised 4D Characters are a beautiful gloss black and protrude from the plate surface.

The DVLA and the Law
You must purchase number plates from a DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier (RNPS), show documents that prove: entitlement to the Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM), who you are and where you live.
The sale of number plates can not take place without the RNPS first seeing these documents.
Proof of entitlement to a VRM is usually the V5C. Proof of name and address is usually a driving licence.

Considerations with a Minimal Registration Plate
Can the plates mount flush to the vehicle?
These plates look their best fitted with heavy duty double sided adhesive pads - included with the plates.
Do the plates need to be fitted with screws?
Check the spacing and positioning of the screw mounts. Particularly important if the
Raised-4D type style is used.
Ordering and Delivery
In the current situation and considering DVLA's rules, plates will be delivered to your door. The driver will be wearing a face covering and gloves.
The driver will need to photograph the appropriate documents that confirm entitlement and address however they will not need to handle the documents.
We endeavour to have every plate in stock however, considering there are 24 different sizes, it may be up to 7 days for delivery while we cut new stock.
